Social Responsibility

At Curio Research, we believe we have a responsibility to give back to our community and society in general. Long-term sustainability is one of the most pressing issues of our time, so we concentrate our efforts on causes that benefit the environment locally and globally.

1% for the Planet

Curio Research has been a member of 1% for the Planet since 2018. This means that one percent of every dollar you spend on research with our company goes to a registered environmental charity.

Carbon Offsets

The efficacy of carbon offsets are sometimes disputed. After doing our own research, including this episode of Planet Money, we made a commitment to purchase offsets for every flight we take, whether for business or personal purposes. Because doing something is better than nothing.

We do not pass this expense on to our clients and will take a train, car, bike, or bus whenever possible.

Volunteering

Lauren Isaacson was a member of Better Environmentally Sound Transportation’s board of directors from 2011 - 2022. They are a non-profit focused on social enterprise as a means to advocate and provide more sustainable transportation options and walkable neighborhoods in the Vancouver, BC metro area.

While no longer on the board, she continues to volunteer with their Bicycle Valet program. She also volunteers with Shoreline Cleanup and the Stanley Park Ecology Society regularly.
